The ASC national conference took place in Warrington on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th April. Chris Clissitt came 2nd in the Friday evening topics contest speaking on “Actions speak louder than words”. The winner was Stephen Dance of Newport SC. Neil Wilson put in an excellent effort in the evaluation contest on Saturday morning but was just pipped into 4th place with several thinking he deserved higher.
Our eastern region representative in the speech contest, Joe James of Newcastle SC, did us proud by gaining 2nd place with his speech “Beware the Pocket Techno Time Bandit”. The winner was the ASC national vice-president, Verity Eunson-Hickey of Horsham SC with her speech “A Delay in the Life of a Procrastinator”.
