A clean sweep for York at the Vale of York Area contests in January. Lindsay Dutch won the speech contest for York, beating Chris Clissitt into 2nd place. Peter Wilson was the other Wetherby contestant. There was no luck for Jeff Denton and Chris Clissitt in the Evaluation contest nor for John Holian and Neil Wilson in the Topics contest.
Having had representatives in the national finals in four of the last five years, it is unusual for the club not to have even a single contestant at District level!
In a rearranged District Conference, Lindsay Dutch won the speech contest and will go on to compete in the national final at York.
