What we do

We are committed to developing the art of effective speaking through practice and constructive feedback within the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the club rather than through classroom lecturing.

We draw upon the experience of our members (who have all suffered the fear of speaking in public and lack of confidence themselves) to advise, coach and encourage newer members.

Members also learn and practise the art of chairmanship, impromptu speaking and evaluation (active listening and giving constructive feedback).

All members receive a copy of the manual, “The Speakers Guide” which covers the art of public speaking from beginner to advanced level together with helpful advice on chairmanship, impromptu speaking, evaluation and many aspects of running a Speakers Club.
